MainStreetMapbooks is a plug-in for use with ArcGIS that easily creates a custom book of map pages or "map book" from an ArcMap project.  It walks you through the creation of a grid layer and automates the printing and exporting of complete mapbooks.  Add index and overview frames with one mouse click, or build a street name index to add to your cover sheet.  While a grid layer is most commonly used to define individual map pages, any type of layer can be used.  This flexibility enables the use of GPS points, Pipe Lines, Streets, Buildings, Lakes, Watersheds, or any other areas of interest, to quickly define a new mapbook.

A map book is a book of map pages where each page corresponds to a specific area of a much larger map. Typically, the large map area is broken down using a grid of rectangles, where each rectangle corresponds to one page in a map book. The map book, with information covering large areas, can be easily taken into the field or provide a convenient reference for use in the office.

Print a complete mapbook directly to your printer or export image files with the touch of a button.  A number of export formats are available, with your choice of resolution and filename.  Choose to print/export all the maps in your project or build a selection list. 

Add elements to the page layout with just one mouse click, such as:

	An Overview frame showing the current page location relative to the entire grid system
	An Index frame showing the adjacent map pages
	Date, Time, Resolution, and File Type tags
	A Map Number frame
	A Street Index list showing the name of each street and its coordinate location
